We had a chance to review Ridley Pearson’s latest book in the Kingdom Keepers series.  Ridley Pearson is an award-winning author and is also a big fan of Disney.  In fact, he says he likes to hang out at the Disney parks and aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships whenever he gets a chance!  This must offer good material to use for this series since they are usually take place on a Disney cruise ship or at the Disney Parks!  Now if we all could just get invited as well to hang out on a Disney cruise ship!  Wouldn’t that be fun!

About the Kingdom Keepers Series:

The first of the Disney HYPERION VII part series (#7 is coming out in April 2014) finds five young teens tapped as models for them park  “guides” find themselves pitted against Disney villains and witches that threaten both the future of Walt Disney World and the stability of the world outside its walls. Using a cutting-edge technology called DHI–which stands for both Disney Host Interactive and Daylight Hologram Imaging–Finn Whitman, an Orlando teen, and four other kids are transformed into hologram projections that guide guests through the park. The new technology turns out, however, to have unexpected effects that are both thrilling and scary. Soon Finn finds himself transported in his DHI form into the Magic Kingdom at night. Is it real? Is he dreaming? (Source: Kingdom Keepers.)

Each book in the series takes these teenagers on different adventures.  In Kingdom Keepers Dark Passage Book VI, the friends face a dark journey that challenges the bonds of their friendship and trust.  While on board the Disney’s Dream’s inaugural passage, events happen on and off the ship that endanger not only the celebrated Disney hosts, but the passengers and crew as well.  The story gets really exciting when the Maleficent and Evil Queen are clearly on a quest to assemble the parts of a puzzle found in the pages of a secret journal.  What’s not to love about a secret journals!  As the Kingdom Keepers decipher each piece of the puzzle and learn the truth behind each piece – their anxiety of what’s to come only heightens.  If you like stories about ships, Carribean islands, the jungle and about friendships, this will be an exciting edition to your library!  If you already have these books or want to try them out – we have two hardcover books to hand out.  Good luck!

And take a moment to read Dave Parfitt’s interview with Ridley Pearson about the inspiration behind this book and the series and about his collaboration with Dave Barry!  To read this in-depth interview go to Adventures by Daddy.
